Extreme Home Make Over !!
The 5 volunteers.....Let me just tell you that it was COLD and you had to have your T-shirt over your coats (and six other layers! ) So we've already added 30lbs to ourselves ...It's a good thing we never ended up around any camera crews :)
Somehow after picking up trash and walking around looking for these nice looking designers we landed the job of the night ~ We were taken to the tent that Ed was in ~ He was making beautiful furniture and there we were ready to help!! They asked us if we could sand &/or stain wood and we were like YEAH of course we can!!! So Ed explained what he needed help with and we spent the rest of the night listening to his amazing accent ...I loved it when he called us sweetheart :)
We were invited back today for a "shooting" but they said it could take up to 4 hrs and I'm feeling the guilt of missing out on the girls yesterday so we are not sure if we are going to go today or not!?! The actual show is in Chapman and it's about 30 min from Manhattan ....The word is that it will be a 2hr special on January 25th!!! The town of Chapman was hit very hard this summer with a tornado and Extreme Makeover is doing much more than just one home ...they are working on other peoples homes with odd jobs, giving furniture, a memorial park and a community center. We also were able to help pour concrete for the new sign that welcomes you into Chapman. It was a really great experience!
